Tilt Shift

I hated trying to find a place high enough to take a picture for this project so over spring break I went to my grandmas house to take pictures for this project. After I found a place high enough for this project to work, we uploaded the pictures on photo schop and used the lens blur tool to blur out the foreground and background. After it looked like a natural blur, we Used the brightness and contrast tool. This time changeing the colors of the photo to the extreams. in doing this it gave the picture a toy effect. If I would have been higher I feel like my pictures would have turned out better. After the first picture I got the hang of it and started bluring out random things :) It made the project way more interesting.

Street: Contact Sheet

The street photography project was really stressful when I started. I went to Portland on a rainy day and i was afraid no one was going to be outside. After a couple pictures I got comfortable and wasnt afraid of people noticeing me. When ever I had an opportunity I snapped my camera. I was amazed when my pictures came to life on the paper. I hope we get to do a project similer to this again!

"Did you just get us"

This was one of my more awkward photos. I loved this couple. They looked so similer with their matching hats and black jackets. I also loved the emotion it gave the picture by their curiosty and the fact they are holding hands made the picture. I Had to hurry when taking this photo because they were walking so fast. I adjusted my shutter speed and SNAP, the camera made a loud noise. The guy turned to me and asked "Did you just get us?" I just started laughing yelled "Yes I did!" and ran away!

Narnia.

Little boy looking into the magical world of Portland. With wide
eyes and such wonder. I wish this picture had more contrasting
colors!

El Autobus

This picture is one of my favorites on my street photography film. I love that the lady is leaning on the pole and that the bus was in the back ground. It was fun being sneaky and trying to not make it obvious.

Banjo.

I hate that this picture is blurry, but the clouds were out and it was pretty dark. I had to leave my shutter up for a while. If I were to do this picture again, I would take it when they are playing and make sure to hold my hand very still.

Forever and Always

This couple was so cute! They were truely infatuated with each other. I love that no matter what you look like and where you are in life it is possible for you to find love. I wish I had taken more pictures of human interaction. But that means getting close and personal. Something that was a struggle for me.

Do not walk.

I LOVE this picture. I love the busy but not so busy feeling it gives you. The detail on this photo really catched your eye and draws your attention to the zero on the cross walk sign. I didnt want to take a close up of the homeless man because one time when I volenteered at a shelter we were told not to take pictures. Another thing I love is the contrast between the blacks and whites!

Outside My Window

After visiting Rome a couple of summers ago, I fell in love with
arches. This building doesn't exactly fit in with the modern feel of Portland but gives us an old time, roman empire feeling when standing under it. It was my all time favorite picture in the architectureproject.

Face Lift

This is a building downtown that is being renovated. It has a outer casing on it where people are quickly trying to make it something better and new, Just like a face lift.

Always in Someone Else's Shadow

The first thing I thought of when looking at this building was its
majestic mirror effect. It reminds me of a girl who wants to be
Someone else and when looking in a mirror she pictures her self
as if she is no longer her. In the end you can never fully be some-
one else and in the end your true colors will always shine through.

Stairway to Beyond

This has to be one of my favorite additions in this project. I caught the light just right and the picture gives you this mysterious feeling. You never know where staircases might lead and in Portland, its probably a good idea to fallow them. They may just change your life.

Portlandia

Walking around Portland its impossible to get bored.
There are so many interesting people and things to see.
I discovered these amazing lamps that were a great
addition to my architecture project. They gave the photo
an older feel, but still having the modern feeling you get
when you experience this magical city.
