What is about smoking? Is it just that marketing has captured hold of the consumers over the years? Set up to grasp ahold of the teenage rebel population? Is it the status symbol it created in years past, or the essence of sexyness established by famous people such as, Marilyn Monroe? Everyone knows it causes cancer, its addicting, and can cause harm to you and everyone else you surround yourself with...yet people continue to light up everyday? How is it that something that was created over 18,000 years ago is still a big influence in our day to day life? Through the decades photographers continue to capture the secret moments and disturbing realities of a cigarette whether it makes smoking sexy, desirable, or exposes the shocking secrets behind the bud; it is something that will be present for many more years to come.
